Regrets and New Beginnings P42

Smoke emerged into camp first and heading straight to the pile of boulders at the edge of the clearing, his tail straight betraying his normal emotionless attitude.

As Leopard made her way to the prey pile to drop off a squirrel, on the way back Smoke caught a squirrel that was dumb enough to dart out in front of two cats.

“Let all cats gather beneath me to hear my words!”  

The clearing fell silent, everyone stopped what they were doing, and all ears and eyes focused on Smoke.

“I have an announcement to make, Leopard has agreed to be a Subordinate… and my mate.”

“WHAT?”

A voice screeched from the mass of cats, Leopard couldn't see who it was.

“What are you saying Smoke, I thought you loved me. We had kits together! I guess I was wrong about you…”

“No, Venom I still love you! You will still be my mate but from now on I will have two mates! It will be wonderful don't worry about anything my dear.”

There was no response back.

All eyes turned to Leopard, some were from cats that she meet before and has become friends with no eyed her with disloyalty. While the other Subordinate`s glanced at her with hostile threatening eyes.

“Leopard step forward to receive your new name and rank below the eyes of the forest cats.”

Forest cats? She wondered as she padded forward towards the rocks. Her gaze went to her paws not wanting to see the betrayal on all the cats who she has made friends with the past moon. They didn't understand the circumstance that she's in.

“From this day onwards you will be known as Fracture. You will be able to push around the meaningless group of cats who can`t do anything from now on. And as a bonus be my mate.” Leopard could feel his tongue rasping her neck fur, she shivered at his touch.

“Okay that is all, get back to your duties or whatever.”

He abruptly said and hopped from the rocks making his way to the small den.

Leopard didn't know what to do now, she hopped off and hoping to get away from him walked the other way. Hearing a cough from behind she turned to see him staring at her and waving his tail to come with her.

Great this is the start to my own personal torture.
